Through her sculptures, prints, performances, artist Kathryn Andrews explore how materials exist in systems, or economies, of representational relationships.
Her highly finished forms draw from a minimalist language, and are often conceptually activated by the inclusion of found, acquired, and rented objects. In her practice, the readymade not only serves as a vessel through which materials are imported from the outside world, but as way to examine pre-existing social contracts and infrastructures.
