This two-part program is an extensive conversation with the 2018 Nasher Prize Laureate Theaster Gates.
During the first hour, Gates and Director of the Studio Museum in Harlem, Thelma Golden, will discuss his latest and upcoming projects.
In the second half, join Gates as he discusses common misconceptions about his work with students and members of the Dallas arts and civic community. Seeking to engage in a true dialogue, Gates will address, inform, and answer questions about his practice.
Open to the public and free with advance registration. This lecture will take place at the AT&T Performing Arts Center Wyly Theatre, 2400 Flora Street, Dallas. Paid parking is available in the Lexus Silver Parking, located below the Dallas City Performance Hall, directly across (east) Jack Evans from the Wyly Theatre.
