Summer 2017

In this issue, we hope you enjoy learning about our upcoming exhibition Roni Horn, in which the artist will install eight large-scale cylindrical cast glass sculptures of varying colors in the museum’s main gallery. It will be Horn's first U.S. museum presentation of her work since 2010 and the first to focus specifically on her cast glass sculpture.

To compliment Horn’s work—which is deeply inspired by the artist’s investigations of literature—is the second in our curatorial series of exhibitions called Foundations, highlighting works from the Nasher’s permanent collection. Foundations: Sculpture and Literature will take a focused look at artists who, like Horn, turned to books and poetry as fodder for their art making. And, to further enrich these connections, in this issue we’ve included some reading lists inspired by both Roni Horn and Foundations: Sculpture and Literature.
