Since 2008, Nasher 3:01 Club has offered a unique learning experience among great works of modern sculpture to girls from low-income areas who attend after-school programming through Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas.
3:01 Club is a direct collaboration between the Nasher Sculpture Center and Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas, and content for the program is designed to fit not only with Nasher standards but also with curriculum and outcomes integral to the mission of Girls Inc.
Named for the time the school day ends, Nasher 3:01 Club brings up to 30 girls in grades 3-5 to the Nasher for four weekly, two-hour visits. Each visit consists of introductory verbal challenges and thinking games, guided looking and interactive experiences in the galleries, a hands-on studio art project, and reflective journaling. Program curriculum is designed to equip participants with critical thinking skills that will enhance their understanding of sculpture and other visual art.
