Samara Golden creates disorienting environments using mirrors and architecture to explore themes like violence, class disparity, and recovery. Her new installation, if earth is the brain then where is the body, transforms the Lower Level Gallery into a space where memories, emotions, and possibilities converge. From September 28, 2024 - January 12, 2025, visitors entering the gallery will encounter a seemingly infinite and fantastic space evoking cascading pools, ranging from the fetid to the paradisical—a place where memories, emotions, and possibilities converge.
