Discover how soap, an object we touch every day, connects to the land we live on and the resources it provides. Inspired by artist Otobong Nkanga's Carved to Flow, an artwork exploring how soap can be a tangible symbol for the flow of ingredients across international borders, the Nasher invites visitors of all ages to learn about soapmaking, spend time with experts in the ecology and economy of North Texas, and enjoy food and music from local sources.

Ángel Faz is a Dallas-based artist and activist. For the past years their practice has included research and reverence toward water and its relationship with the land, with particular emphasis on Dallas’s Trinity River, originally called the Arkokisa.

Christie Whitehead founded Magnolia Soap Co. in 2018, transforming a converted garage into her creative haven, where she has crafted her products ever since. Hailing from South Dallas, Texas, Whitehead is committed to the use of natural ingredients in her soaps, candles, and beauty products, reflecting her deep Texan roots.
Texas Discovery Garden
Texas Discovery gardens is a nonprofit, 7.5-acre organic garden located in Dallas’s historic Fair Park. Its grounds feature Texas native and adapted plants and the two-story Rosine Smith Sammons Butterfly House and Insectarium.
Texas Master Naturalists Program
The Texas Master Naturalist Program’s mission is to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities for the State of Texas. The Dallas chapter is among many in the state and specializes in the Blackland Prairie.
